CIECA BMS Messages
Repair Facility Add
This message is used to send a Repair Facility location to a Rental Car Company or Insurance Company. The message is sent from the Consolidator or Repair Facility which is the status message publisher to the Rental Car Company or Insurance Company which is the subscriber.
This message is also used between an Information Provider to an Insurance Company to request a Repair Facility Identifier (e.g. Shop identifier), and also from an Insurance Company to reply to the Information Provider with the identifier (e.g. Shop identifier).
Repair Order Add
The Repair Order Add Request takes a new repair order and attempts to match it against an open Rental Contract. The message is sent from the Repair Facility to the Rental Car Company. It allows the Repair Facility to link the Repair Order with a Rental Office and a Rental Contract Number.
This message can also be sent from the Information Providers to the Insurance Company. The Insurance Company could then match the Repair Order to the Claim Number.
Claim Information Add
The Claim Information Add Request message is sent by the Repair Facility to Rental Vehicle provider to aid in estimating the number of days the renter will rent the vehicle.
Rental Add Request
The Rental Add Request message is sent by the Rental Car Company to the Repair Facility in the case where the Customer is linked at a time after the Repair Order Add message initially sends the Repair Order Add Request message. It allows the Repair Facility to link the Repair Order with a Rental Office and a Rental Contract Number.
The Rental Add Request message can also be sent by the Insurance Company to the Repair Facility (or Information Provider).
Repair Status Change
The Repair Status Change Request message is sent by the Repair Facility to Rental Vehicle provider if there is a change to the repair labor hours estimate, or if no repair labor hours estimate was delivered initially. This formation will aid in estimating the number of days the renter will rent the vehicle.
Production Stage Change
This message is used to send the following information from the Repair Facility (they may send this message through the Information Providers) to the Rental Car Company, an Insurance Company, or Information Provider for Production Status Reporting for linked repair orders; or for property, from the Glass Repair Facility to the Insurance Company or Information Provider for Production Status Reporting.
This message reports Production Changes ONLY and is NOT used to report completion date changes
The Rental Status Inquiry Request message is sent by the Repair Facility, an Insurance Company, or Information Provider (Status Reporting) to a Rental Company in order to receive Rental Status on a Rental Contract/Ticket/Invoice.
Rental Status Inquiry
The Rental Status Inquiry is a request for the status of the repair which may result in a request for Authorization from the Insurance Company if it will be needed
Repair Order Close
The Repair Order Close Request is used to inform the Rental Car Company, the Insurance Company, or the Information Provider (Status Reporting) that the Repair Order has been closed. This allows the Rental Car Company to delete the Repair Order from its holding queue, and for the Insurance Company and Information Provider to update their files.
Vehicle Repair Status Response
The Vehicle Repair Status Response message(s) are confirmation to the requestor that the message was received.
Some of the Responses will include additional information about a rental or claim.
