What are CIECA Standards?

CIECA Standards are developed to provide software developers with a full set of tools necessary to develop APIs tailored to the needs of the collision industry. Each standard consists of four components:

Data Dictionary

  • Defines the data elements included in the standard.
  • Defines data type (such as currency, text, number, field size, etc.)

Code List

  • Defines the variables used to define drop-down lists, radio button lists, etc.
  • The CIECA Code List is comprised of thousands of industry standard codes.

Schemas

  • A blueprint that defines how the data elements are organized and validated.
  • CIECA has schemas for every major process used in the industry today.

Support Documents

  • Documentation to help software developers apply the standard to real-world applications.
