CIECA Announces CONNEX 2019
How Autonomous Should Autonomous Vehicle Legislation Be?
Representing the 84th House of Delegates District in the Virginia General Assembly, Delegate Glenn Davis serves on the Education, Transportation and General Laws Committees. He also serves as vice chairman of the Joint Commission on Technology and Science and chaired its Cyber Security and blockchain subcommittees. In 2016, Delegate Davis carried and passed legislation, the first of its kind in the nation, allowing motion video in view of the driver while not actively performing driving tasks. This legislation resulted in additional private investments into the Commonwealth related to Autonomous Vehicle Research and Development. Delegate Davis has been very involved in the advancement of autonomous vehicle technology. During his CIECA CONNEX presentation, he will share his thoughts about the legislative fine line between ensuring public safety and impeding innovation.
Versioning Technical Presentation
Andrew Bober, the software analyst lead at Arms Business Solutions, will talk about versioning during the CIECA CONNEX conference. This includes introducing version control to the process of managing ongoing updates to CIECA's Business Message Suite (BMS). The CIECA Architecture Committee is moving the BMS Schemas into GitHub and incorporating build and validation processes that will help ensure efficient and high-quality semiannual releases. Andrew has more than 20 years of experience in information technology (IT).
