Certification
Application Types and Detail
The requester contacts CIECA staff via
phone to request an application or the requestor downloads it from the
web site.
The application details the level
(category) of certification requested.
The application to be certified will be
validated against the CIECA Business Message Specification (BMS) Schema.
The applicant will also indicate which
part of the BMS Schema they are looking for certification on as to
assignment document type. These are considered to be subsets of the BMS
Schema.
-
Estimate Assignment Document.
-
Glass Assignment Document.
-
Rental Assignment Document.
-
Salvage Assignment Document.
-
CSI Assignment Document.
-
Estimate Detail Document.
-
Other message types based on the CIECA
Schema.
The applicant will indicate the type of
certification for each document submitted as “New” or “Recertify”.
The application will also list the
applicants’ product name, description and version number to be
certified. These can include older product versions that use the current
CIECA BMS Schema.
Use case example:
“Estimating Company A Inc” has upgraded
their estimate software package to a newer version and has additional
functionality that now includes salvage valuations for insurance
companies. They already had certification for the estimate assignment
and estimate detail in an earlier version and now want to recertify
because there were no changes to that portion of the product in this new
version. They are also indicating that the salvage assignment
functionality will now be included in their new release version
indicated in the following form.

Applicant submits the form via fax or
through an email attachment to the CIECA Staff
CIECA Staff reviews the application and
returns a confirmation message with a UserID, password, and tracking
number to the electronic address of the technical contact listed on the
application
Submission of
data documents Preparation
Prepare a file with the information to be
certified. Some organizations may need to consider de-identification of
the data to be submitted for certification. Now is the time to perform
this step. It’s also a good time to review the XML wrapper
information. In the example below, VehicleDamageEstimateAddRq is shown
but you need to substitute the appropriate message name and the
appropriate BMS version number (BMSVer). Wrap the data similar to the
following example:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
- <VehicleDamageEstimateAddRq xmlns="http://www.cieca.com/BMS">
<RqUID>f81d4fae-7dec-11d0-a765-00a0c91e6bf6</RqUID>
<SvcProviderName>Your Company Name</SvcProviderName>
- <DocumentInfo>
<BMSVer>2.0.0</BMSVer>
Submission of data
documents
Go to the CIECA web site and enter the
Certification portion of the web site. This will require the userid and
password from the email sent by CIECA staff.
A Certification screen will pop up that
requires entry of the tracking number given in the email from the CIECA
Staff, and also requires entry of a file name containing the data to be
certified.
Enter the required data on this screen,
press enter, and you will receive a response which indicates the
certification results. At the bottom of the response screen under the
heading “***Validation Errors***” you will see “No errors were found” if
the message certified correctly. Congratulations!
Notification of
Completion
Notify the CIECA Staff via email that
Certification was successful. They will verify the results and complete
Your Certification.
